OPENING OF GREEN

Xearly 100 bowlers attended the opening- of the indoor bowling green at the "Winter Show building on Saturday afternoon.

Mr. \Y. Pawson, a member of the Wellington Bowling Centre, dec-laved the green open. He congratulated Mr. A. Priddle, a well-known bowler belonging to the .Island Bay. Club, on his enterprise in Haying down the green. While he wel•eonied the many bowlers present, Mr. 3?awson said he. regretted that more memfaevs) of (.he Wellington Centre did not attend. lie was sure all present appreciated ' what Mr. Priddle had done to proTide entertainment for bowlers during .the ■winter, months.

Mrs. Priddle threw up the first jack, .and Mi1. Webb, the oldest bowler present, •played the first bowl.

During the afternoon games were play.<xl, and at the conclusion of them a presentation was made to Mr. Priddle.
