The Smith j?amiiy, well-known now. as the "Joy-spreaders" (for their kind organisation has done so much to relieve the 'distress among tie. poorer folk, of Wellington), has now made a definite pla-n for. getting funds to meet the winter .necessities. : ' v .
A. scries of bridge .parties has: been inaugurated, the opening qne-of which will take place, at Kirkcaldie's tooms on Tuesday/May 1, beginning at quarter to eight in the evening. Both auction and-contract will be - played, and prizes will be given for players' in both sections: These have been donated, and are most attractive. Tables may be reserved personally, drby tele--phbne:at'the:.Smith Family office, and the.
