WAIHI OPERATIONS

The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company,' Limited:I—No.1 —No. 4 level:—North branch of Martha lode: Driving west the next lift assays ,42s a ton. The reef is about 2ft wide. No. 5 level—Martha Jode: Driving west the next 35ft assays 2s 3d a ton. No. 0 level — Crosseuttinp; to the nortliswest the following leaders have been intersected: -At 500 ft, Sin wide, assaying 9s 3d a 'ton, standing vertical. At 507 ft, Gin wide, of good grade and dipping one in four south. At 508 ft, Sin wide, assaying 10s 3d a ton, and dipping one in five south. , MAHAKIPAWA. Mnhakipawa reports for the week ending April 7:—No. 3 blocking strip off southeast diive advanced to' distance of 00ft through extra good grade wash. Face still carrying 4ft of bottom . rock. Prospects favourable for continuation of this quality of.. wash. No. 4 blocking strip, off south-east drive advanced to distance of 23ft, and now in good grade wash. Bottom dipped away on right hand side at 19ft, but has now risen to floor of the drive. Some very large stones have appeared in this face. North strip off south-east drive advanced to distance of 12ft in fair grade wash, but as bottom dipped away driving has ceased here temporarily. A crosscut has been pushed out a distance of 66ft from commencement of No. 3 south strip, to determine width of gutter to a distance of 7ft. This also carries extra good-grade wash with bottom dipping slightly. There is every indication' of this quality wash continuing. This; will be known as No. 1 crosscut. The return for the-week was 141oz alluvial gold. ' • ; I GLENROY. Mr. S. W.. Jameson, secretary Glenroy, reports that the company's consulting engineer reports that the cpntractor for repairs' to the main water-race, tunnels, and flumes is making excellent progress with the work. No. 1 tunnel completed, and No. 2 tunnel, which requires close timbering throughout, already completed more than half its length. Trestles and stringers for all flumes in position, and a start made with the erection of the boxes thereon. SALES OF SHARES.
