LODGE MEETINGS
1.0.0. F., N.Z. J Southern Cross Lodge.—Bro. V. Kidd, N.G., presided over a very large attendance, including many visitors. It" was decided to meet St. Helier's Lodge, H.A.C.8.5., at their lodgeroom, to play-off the "500" tournament ot the W.F.S. Council. The following officers were elected for tho ensuing term:—N.G., Bro. G. Paiggi; V.G., Bro. D. Dunne; financial secretary. Bro. W. Condlilfe; recording secretary! Bro. H. Miller; treasurer, Bro. R. C. Andrew. One brother was accepted on transfer from Ridgcly Lodge. The Grand Master, Bro. J. H. Guy, accompanied by the Grand Warden, Bro. G. Rudkinfand Grand Lodge representatives, paid an official visit and was accorded the "honours of the order." Official visits were also received from Kupe, Wildey, Zealandia, and Maraenui Lodges. At the close of the meeting a reception was tendered the Grand Master, at which there was a large attendance of subordinate and Rebekah Lodge members. Ngati Awn Lodge—Bro. L. F. Robert-son-Taylor. N.G., presided over a large attendance. The election of officers tor the ensuing term resulted as follows:— K.G.. Bro. E. C. Batten; V.G.. Bro. k. S. Martin; recording secretary, Bro. bcaclden; financial secretary, Bro. D. ' Reynolds; treasurer, Bro. A. T. Bloomfield. \t the close of lodge business a meeting of Past Grands was held, when a number of district, matters were dealt with, including the election of D.D.h.M.. lor which office" Bro. Bargh was elected. Muritai Lodge.-Bro. Creswell N.G., presided over a fair attendance. The iollowin" officers for the1 new term were ele°cted:-N.G., Bro. Cheescman; \.G ; , Bro. A. Stewart; secretary, Bro. K. Wilson; treasurer, Bro. W. Wilson. Kupe Lodge.—Bro. R. Mathers was the presiding officer. Officers for the current term were elected as follows:—N.G., Bro. Brooks; V.G., Bro. Simpson; recording secretary, Bro. Johnson; financial secretary, Bro. Edmondson; treasurer, Bro. G. Nicol. Two new members were initiated. Wildey Lodge.—Bro. A. J. Holding presided over a good attendance. Visitors present included. Bros. Hardham, McGregor, Webster, Reilly, Papworth, representing Zealandia, Southern Cross, Pride of Karori, and Maraenui Lodges. Three members were declared on the sick fund, and relative sick, pay, with general accounts, was passsed for payment. A ballot was taken for candidates nominated for membership. The election of officers resulted as follows:—N.G.. Bro. P. O'Boyle; V.G., Bro. B. Churchill; recording secretary. Rro. R. Barrowman. The secretary and treasurer, Bros. Havill and Oxenham. were re-elected. Business concluded, the jurlses held the ritual contest, the contestants being Bro. A. J. Holding (Wildey), Bro. McGregor (Southern Cross). Bro. AVebster (Karori). and Bro. Pnpworth (Maraewiil. The 3"dges were Bros. Hnrdham. Smith, and Barrowman. Bro. Webster was adjudged the winnt-r. The evening concluded with cards. MANCHESTER UNITY. Loyal Rose of the Valley Lodge.—Bro. Little, N.G., presided over a good attendance. Sick reports were received from the stewards and payments authorised. A return challenge was sent to Loyal Petone Lodge for another "500" contest. Business concluded, members spent a pleasant hour at cards. Loyal Kilbirnio Lodge.—Bro. S. Lades was the presiding officer. Bro. C. O. Jorgensen reported on tho recent conference and answered a number of questions. Visitors from Britannia and Newtown Lodges were accorded lodge honours and suitably replied. After the lodge was closed a match for the Telford '000 Cup was played, resulting in a narrow win for members of Newtown Lodge. Loyal Newtown Lodge.—Bro. A. Rhodes. N.G.", presided. An official visit was paid by members of Sister Wallis Lodge. An early adjournment took place for dancing, games, and cards. Sis. Wallis Lodge.-Sis. Giles, N.G., presided over S good attendance, \isitors present included a member from England. Sick reports were received and payments authorised. Harmony concluded the even'"Card Tournament.-The annual card tournament between members of the Manchester Unity and Foresters' Lodges took place recently, there boine a Inr-re attendance of members. Euchre, "500, and cribbage games were played, the nnal^ ag-Ki-cnte giving a narrow victory to the Oddfellows. On "behalf of the Foresters, who were thp previous holders of the trophy, Bro. Griffiths extended hearty congratulations to tlm winners, and handed over tie shield to Bro. B. Bell. pr»sident of the Wellington P.G. Lodse. Lodge honours were accorded by-pnrh"-order and a plcnsant evening concluded. Loyal Carterton Lodge.-Bro. Candy. NG' presided. After routine business ln'd "been transacted, the meeting was closed and those present indulged .in harmony. GRAND UNITED ODDFELLOWS. Loyal Rvde Lodge—Bro. .R. Grooby, KG presided over a good attendance A'report on the biennial .conference of tho society held in Wellington recently was presented by Bro. B. Wiffin was congratulated upon being the first lady member to be elected to the chair of N.G. Tho district master, Bro. McQueen, Bro. Thompson, and bis. Hooper honoured the lodge with a visit, and installed the newly-elected officers. It was decided to enter a team for the ritual competition.
