MR. E.A. HICKS; a well-known Wellington chess player, tuho died at the Hospital last Sunday. He twice ivon the championship of the Wellington Chess Club,'and at the 1912-13 New Zealand Congress tied'tvith two other well-known players for the Dominion title, the play-off.being. icon by the late Mr. I. C. Grierson. The late Mr. Hicks took part in thirteen Dominion Congresses.
