A SUCCESSFUL FAIR
; lhe Seatoun Home and School Asso- ; ciation, with the assistance of the school ; committee, held a successful fair at the ; Seatoun School on Saturday last. [ A varied programme of entertainment . was submitted,. including a fancy-dress [ parade, ball swinging, and an exhibition , of jiu-jitsu by. Mr. G. S. Marley and pupils, . fancy and tap-dancing by Miss Leonie , Holes and pupils. The numerous side- . shows Were very popular, and Toe H representatives assisted in many ways" in . keeping up interest in this department. i A very , popular innovation was the [ donkeys, of which there were four; the . three adults did great business, and the [ baby came in for its share of patronage, . but did not have such a strenuous time. : Several competitions were held in con- ! nection with the stalls, and the winners [ were as follows:—Tea room, Mrs. Ingram I (Rongotai) and Mrs. Lang; cake, Mrs. i Kellaway; aeroplane ride, Miss Lang; ; Easter eggs, Margaret Corder and John ! Mitchell: work basket. Mrs. Welsh; ■ sweets, Mrs. Tait; picture. Mrs. Peskey; ; most useful article, girls, Jean Havkness. • 1. Mavis Warren, 2; boys.. Ivan Lewis, l) i Ken Lang, 2. - . • ■ : The stallholders were as follows:— Sweets, Mrs. H. A. Fanselow, Mrs. B. 0. Ingram, and Miss Taylor: produce, Mesdames Matthews, Olliver, and Muir; cakes, Mesdames Tait, Collins, Macannaly, Forbes, and McCorkindale; jumble and books, Mesdames Macfarlane, Gardiner; ice cream, Mesdames Kellaway, Allan, Sanderson, Nicol, and Lang; afternoon tea, Mesdames Brown, Barry' Coventry, i Gendall, Miss M. Lewis, and 6th standard [ girls. -
