FASTER CONFERENCE

NATIONAL Y;W.C.A

The . annual conference of' the, "X.AY.C.A. of New Zealand will bo held during Easter at Paraparaumu Beach, where, tho Hotel Majestic has been reserved for'the delegates. About 60 of these are due toarrivo from Auckland, Hamilton, 'New Plymouth, Palmerston North, AVhangarei, AVellington, Christchurch, Timaru, and Dunedin.

The conference has been arranged as an educational gathering: for, the' senior section,'when "Creative Citizenship" will be the special subject of consideration in all its aspects and branches.

Tho morniags will-be occupied ii\ study. 'Che four groups of interest will be as follows:—"Somo Modem Ect Jigious ■■Movements," led by "the "Rev. C: ilitcliell; "Creative Citizenship," led by Miss. M.. Black; "The Business Wo"----maii's World," led Jby Miss L. Bridgman; "Pathways to Certainty," led by Miss-D. M. Lynn. Conference members will be divided into groups for the purpose of the studies. •

The afternoons will bo left free for recreation, making the outing a" tiolii day as well as an opportunity for learn-i ing something '.now and discussing subjects of really worth-while interest. 1 Mr. W. Nash, M.P., will give an ad-i dress on the "Goal of Social Welfare* on Friday . evening. Mrs. Sutherland Ross, Dunedin, a member of the world committee of the Y.W.C.A., will-speak about ''World Friends" on Sunday evening. A number of other appropriate and interesting subjects have also been chosen for discussion, taking tho question of charity and its-usefulness or otherwise, sport and. its use and abuse; and the cinematograph in its various phases.

■A special Easter service will be held on Sunday. Saturday is pleasantly planned, a "Fun Night" being one of the items arranged. The conference will open on Thursday, and will close on Monday night. On Tuesday there will be a secretarial conference for staff members only..
