TEXTILE COMPETITION
(British Official Wireless.) (Received March 17, 11 a.m.)' BXJGBY, Maich 16. The special committee . on Japanese competition, representing all sections of the British cotton and artificial silk industries, met at Manchester today "to receive the report on the breakdown of the Anglo-Japanese discussions. Tho negotiating eommitteo was thanked for its services and a personal message was sent to the-chief Japanese delegate, Mr. Okada, expressing appreciation of the unfailing courtesy shown by him and his colleagues during the negotiations. * ' . . Speaking after the meeting, Sir Thomas Barlow said that he conveyed to the. full committee the official assurance he had received from Sir Horace Wilson that the position would receive immediate and urgent consideration from the Government, who would keep in. close touch with the committee. Further conferences would be held with the Board of Trade after the Government had examined the matter and clarified the position as between them and the Japanese Government. ,
