Notes supplied by one of the officials of the Kiwi,Amateur;Athletic, Club record the most successful season for the j club to date. The club has won most of the trophies for open competition, including the Dewar and A. C. Kitto Shields, and splendid club spirit has been shown. On training nights an. interesting and instructive programme has been carried out, points counting for the Everiss Shield, a fine trophy which has created keen interest and has helped to make training. enjoyable. Tribute is paid to the club's executive, and special mention is 'made of the work of the secretary. On Wednesday week the club will be holding its annual social and dance, and at this function trophies won during the season will Toe presented.! ... ; . '. Two brothers, J. and K. Wilson, had a very successful time in the cycling events, K. Wilson scoring two firsts and J. Wilson a first and two seconds. In two races,, in which they were "on the same mark, J. Wilson chased his brother homo. ~ 0. H. Jenkins unfortunately was unable to start in the 100 yarda handicap on Saturday, His left foot was giving him trouble and pained him when he put it to the- ground. ■ ' As an indication of their keenness B. Roberts and W. H." Roberts, brothers, who have conipcted in Wellington/often, came down from the Wairarapa specially to see Metcalfe in action. Both took part in the high jump. Apart ffo.m. the performances of. the Australians, the most notable efforts by a local athlete at Saturday's meeting were those of the' young Rongotai College sprinter, C. E. Robinson. Still well under twenty years of age, this tall, lithe boy shows more promise than anyone else in Wellington at the present, time. He should have years of running ahead of him, and one hopes that, he will conserve the promise he shows by not allowing himself to fall a victim to any excess of enthusiasm. The'story of those who have done so in the past is not a happy one to those who remember them in the fire of their youth.
