BEAUTY SPOTS BURNT

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) >- V BLENHEIM,- This Day. The abnormally dry season has resulted in a further series of bush fires in many of the beautiful Marlborough Sounds reserves. Fitzgerald's Bay has been burned out. Edgecombe Point, at the entrance to Endeavour Inlet, is partly burnt, and the fire is still raging. . The well-known Double Bay reserve was saved only after a desperate fight. The Picton hill reserve at the back of the town is* partly burned. The Department is urging settlers not to -burn their grass country in the vicinity of reserves in such an abnormal season.
