GAOL FOR THEFT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A sentence of six months' hard labour was imposed on John Bullers MeKenzie, aged 31, by Mr. E. .D. Mosley, S.M., this morning. McKenzie pleaded guilty to the theft of a rug, a pair of binoculars, an overcoat, a bottle of whisky, and two bottles of wine from John Francis Kellett. Tho offence occurred at Wellington. ■ The chief detective said that McKenzio was sentenced to three years' reformative detention in 1928 on charges of obtaining credit by fraud.
