APPEAL SUCCESSFUL
CAINSFID RECOVERS RACE
The appeal of Mr. W. Wilson, owner of the hoise Gainsfid, against the decision of the Hawke's Bay District Committee in reversing the judge's placing's of Gainsfid and Little Wonder in the President's Handicap at the Wairoa Meeting on January 27 was upheld by the Racing Confeience Appeal Judges, who heard the case at Wellington yesterday. - The judgment of the , Appeal Judges (Messrs. D. E. Wanklyn, L. W. Kelson, and E. L. Riddiford) was:—"That as Mr. R. G. Fenton, the.owner-of Little Wonder, had not obtained permission from the executive committee to train his own horse as required by rule 136 (a) of'the Rules of Racing, the horse Little Wonder is therefore disqualified under rule 157 (1) for the President's Handicap run at the Wairoa Racing Club's Meeting on t January 27, 1934, and the platings are therefore Gains-fid-first, Stitch secondhand Kinsel third. It is op]y fair to the Hawke's Bay District Committee for. us to state that this point was not considered at the time that that committee altered the placing* "
