EVIDENCE AT INQUIRY
CHIAPPE-DALADIER DUEL
|PART PLAYED BY FROT /
■ United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, March 10. A dramatic moment occurred during M. Datadier's evidence before the Parliamentary Riots Commission, when he was suddenly confronted by M. Chiappe, former Prefect of Police, who repeated his statement about M. Frbt, formerly Minister of the Interior. M. Daladier, ex-Prime Minister, interrupted to say that his impressions were that M. Frot's action was political. M. Chiappe jumped to his feet and said: "I still see you sitting at your desk taking notes. I still hear you say, 'Frot is intriguing outside.' "* "Any plot to overthrow the Government was organised by M. Frot," said M. Chiappe, ex-Prefect of Police, in earlier evidence . before the commission. He added that he had warned M. Daladier when the latter was Prime Minister that M. Frot was trying to organise an army out of Communists, Socialists, and Royalists, and on the eve of the disturbance had vainly attempted to get the support of Colonel Laroque, leader of the Croix de Feu.
