SANJI MUTO DEAD
VICTIM OF ASSASSIN
MOTIVE OF CRIME QUERIED
TOKIO, March 10. Sanji Muto, president of the "Jiji Shimpo," one of Tokio's leading newspapers, who was critically wounded on Friday, died at 9.20 p.m. today. ' Ho had previously undergone a blood transfusion, and it was thought at first that he might survive. The assassin, who committed suicide, left a letter declaring that his motive was a private grudge because Muto appropriated his idea editorially in the "Jiji Shimpo," but the police are now trying to establish a connection between the murderer and the Banchokai Business Association, which was prominently connected with the scandalous shares deal which Muto attacked in a series of articles.
