(To the Editor.) Sir,—Your correspondent is on the ri^ht lines. The greater the consumption of any commodity the better it is for the producer of that commodity. But his figures are wrong. Milk is selling at ._id per pint. Ask the municipal milk depot if that is wrong. To give '550 childreiv one half-pint at any one school would cost for twenty-two school days a month not £34 17s 6d but £58 lis 3d, or. approximately £165 per month if the children were to drink as much milk as is the consumption per head in Sweden—the ideal according to your correspondent. . But to supply tbe schoolchildren' of the Dominion with, one half-pint per day at 2%d per pint would cost nearly a quarter of. a million sterling. Again,, where is the money to come from? Before we "Help Ourselves" to this extent we should first consider how to pay for what we owe already.—l am, etc., ' D.M.M,
