ORPHAN CHILDREN'S OUTING
The Wellington Automobile Club's annual outing for children "of the various orphanages took place on Saturday, and was ono: oE'the most successful yet held. About 400 children were taken to- Maidstone Park, .Upper Hutt. Refreshments were- provided, nnd there was a welcome distribution of toys. The ehirnian of the committee, Jlr. E. A. Rati, expresses: his appreciation of the manner in which members have provided facilities for the children, and have assisted in entertaining them. Jlembers, however, stated, he added, tliat the pleasure shown by the children was' an ample reward for any ti-oiiblc members had taken.
For riots and other serious emergencies in which tear gas proves ineffectual America now has ;i new and stronger "sickening gns," made in grenades candles, and riot-gun projectiles, one deep inhalation of which quickly produces dizziness, nausea, and general incapacitation
