COLLEGE reunion
GATHERING OF OLD GIRLS
A bright and happy gathering of old girls took place at the Wellington East Girls' College recently^when the much- looked forward to "Old Girls' Day" was held. Tea was served to a large number of girls, the tables being artistically decorated with pink, heliotropo, and green streamers and copper bowls of pink and heliotrope asters.and maidenhair fern. After tea the girls played several novel games, and a short play, entitled "Wurzel Fluniinory," was produced by the Amateur Dramatic Club. Among those present were Mrs. Holdsworth, patroness (who wore fawn figured maroeain), Miss Batham (floral georgette, with black coatee), Miss Collin's (wine-coloured ' georgette), Miss MacKenzie (navy blue silk), Miss McCartney, Miss Gardner, Miss Kennedy, and Miss Eeltham. The annual meeting was held in the evening, Miss Batham presiding. The election of oflScers resulted as follows:—Patroness, Mrs. Holdsworth (re-elected); president. Miss Batham (reelected); vice-presidents, members of the staff, M. Barker, M. East, M. MeCrea, D. Carsons, K. Holdsworth, D. Ramsey, and K. White; secretary, M. Stone (re-elected); treasurer, K. Holdsworth; committee, J. and M. Mitchell, V. Stone, M. Bell, D. Cunningham, J. Bradley, J. Keen, M. Parker, and M. MeHutchon. , The report stated- that there was a membership of 172, an increase of 25 over last year. Miss Batham and Mrs. Holdsworth were both presented with bouquets by the Old Girls' Association. Supper brought a very happy evening to- a I close.
