Dalgeiy and Co., London, March 9, adrise by cable that the sales continue fairly animated but opening rates are not maintained for crossbreds. As compared with closing rates of last series:—Halfbred, %d to Id lower; fine crossbreds, l&d to l%d lower; medium crossbred, l%d to 19id lower; coarse crossbred, Id to l%d lower. The sales close' March 16. Our selling dates ' now are. March 12,14, and 16. H..lrwell and Company, London, cable as follows:—"Prices ruling in London this week are as follows:—For good average topmaking wool, '58's, 18d per lb, 56's 16%' d; 50's, lid; 48's, S%d; 46's, 7%d----44's, 7%d; slipe halfbred lambs," 19d; three-quarterbied lambs, lo^d; crossbred seconds, lOVid. Prices are understood as English funds." The. Bank of New South Wales has received the following cable message from its London office, dated March 9:—"Wool: Opening rates maintained, rather better competition."
