Most of the Eiccarton horses with engagements at Trentham this week wero galloped on their home track on Saturday morning. Light raiu fell just as tho work was being completed, but until then good conditions prevailed. The No. 6 track, the outside Of the course proper, and the plough were in use. N ON" THE PLOUGH. Over a mile Cricket Bat clocked lmin 45sec, the last six in lmin 18 l-ssee, and the last three "in 39 4-ssee. He finished strongly, and evidently' is returning to form. Heather Glow recorded lmin 46see for the same journey, ue last seven furlongs taking lmin 32 l-ssec. Drum Fire ran lmin 17 3-osec for six, taking 39 3-ssec for the last three furlongs. Silly Owl covered five furlongs in lmin 4 l-ssec. Eamo and Fair Weather ran homo three furlongs, taking 42 2-psec and 42 respectively. ON THE COURSE PROPER. On the course, with the hurdles 30ft out, the going was good. Final Shot, assisted over the first half-mile by The Scotland over the last two furlongs by Silver Step, ran 1} miles in 2min 11 4-ssee, the last mile taking lmin 43 1-Sscc, aua the last half-mile 51 4-ssee. She did it very well all the way. Sibella was paired with Grampian, and .she was finishing the better to clock lmin 30 1-osec. They rani the first furlong in 13 l-ssec, the next two in 23 3-ssec, and the final half-mile in 53 2-osee. It was thus a very uneven i an, but it was quite satisfactory from Sibella's point of view. Imperial Spear and Custodian, after taking 27sec for the first two furlongs, finished a three-quarter mile task in lmin 19sec, the former having the measure of the two-year-old over the last furlong, which was run out solidly. Copyist ran five furlongs up the track, the last half-mile in 50sec. - Safety Zone ran home half a mile in 51 l-ssee. very wide out. NO. 6 GRASS. Silver King (A. Messervey), assisted home by Polygram, ran a mile, on the No. 6 grass track in lmin 41' 4-osec, the last half-mile in 50 4-osec. He galloped particularly well. Silver Jest (G. Humphries) and Tout le Monde (A. H. Eastwood) ran seven furlongs. There was no pace on for tho first furlong. The last sis took lmin 17 2-ssec, and the last half-mile 52sec. . - Argentic, brought home over the last half-mile by Banelagh, registered lmin 13 3-ssee for sis furlongs, going brilliantly all the way. This was the best of the morning. , Importance took lmin 20 l-ssee to run sis, and tho last three in 40sec, being under restraint throughout. Silver Sight ran lmin 19 2-ssec,\and Cranford beat Strong Light in lmin 14 2-ssec, the last three in 38 2-ssee. Over five furlongs, Bed Dance headed Cleaner : lmin 2 2-ssec, the first two furlongs being left behind in 24 4-ssec. Boyal Amphora went half a mile in 50 2-ssec.
