DUNEDIN SALE DOWN ON FEBRUARY (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. While the market was down from Id to l_d on February values, prices realised at the third wool sale this morning were better than was anticipated in view of the. tendencies at the northern sales. A total catalogue of 25,249 bales was offered. Early competition was more animated than at the last sale, especially for finer wools. Of the first catalogue submitted, the bulk was sold, the only passings being low-grade crossbreds and a few other lots on ; which the reserves were too high. Total passings represented 6 per cent. A The demand was more widespread, with the Continent lifting the bulk of the fine wools, local mills taking lots suitable for their trade. Crossbred wool went chiefly to Bradford, y Generally, the wool is heavier conditioned, the percentage of crossbred being greater. This was reflected in the values, which. are down Id to l_d on the second auction. Fine pieces were, firm on, the February rates.- The top price, so far is 22d for super Corriedale grown at Moa Flat. • . A A.
