QUESTION OF APPEAL INJUNCTION AGAINST FILM (Reeei-ved March 7, 10 a.m.). LONDON, March 6. In the Youssoupoff ease1 Mr. Justice Avory, in refusing a stay of proceedings beyond the morning of March 6 to permit of an appeal, ordered that £1000 paid into court by Princess Irina be handed to her solicitors. Mr. Justice Avory entered judgment for the amount (i£25,000) awarded by the jury, and granted an injunction restraining the defendants from publishing the film as complained of in the action. The Appeal Court has fixed-Monday for the hearing of Sir "William Jowitt's application for a stay of execution in the Youssoupoff case pending appeal; Sir Patrick Hastings intimating that he would not seek enforcement of execution before Monday. A The Princess's solicitors stated that the question of instituting legal proceedings in Australia had not yet been decided. The "Daily Mail" understands that owing to the injunction against showing -the Rasputin film in the form'of which Princess Youssoupoff complained nb further action will be taken against 288 cinemas in England concerned with showing the film. The result of the action has aroused the greatest interest in the film world owing to its effect on the filming of living persons which is usually not attempted without the consent or co-opera-tion of the persons concerned.
