A - 1/(To the Editor.) ■ ..Sir,—ln your issue of February 26, commenting on the recent quickstep competition at the late band contest, mention is made to the late Mr. Charles Trussell, a one-time conductor, arranger and composer, and adjudicator. __ Thinking readers may be under the impression that the gentleman is deceased, I would like you to ■inform his., great number of admirers; in New Zealand that he is still going strong and though, getting on in-years is hale •and hearty and still writing and giving of his best to the'brass band world. In his last'letter!"to me he had just completed a selection of music for contest purposes in Queensland, where he resides. As one of his very.old friends I.would like you'to make this statement.clear for the benefit of his many friehds: in' the Dominion.—l amj etc., ONE OP HIS OLD BAND.
