JUDGMENT IN LIBEL CASE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 6. . Charles Seymour Trillo, proprietor of Gold Band Taxis, was the defendant in a, libel action heard before Mr. H. Al Young, S.M., today. The city traffic inspector (J. Bourke) claimed £75 damages, alleging'that Trillo, in a letter to the chairman of tho bylaws committee of the City Council on December 19, had charged him with being guilty of perjury and gross misconduct in the discharge of'his duties, and that he acted unjustifiably' and discreditably. The case is a sequel to the prosecution of a Gold Band taxi driver for a traffic breach. Tho Magistrate, after hearing evidence, said, thero was no doubt that the statements complained of were untrue and were maliciously made. It was'necessary that the plaintiff be re-, imbursed for all possible expenses incurred in defending his character. Judgment was for £40 with costs.
