The board would not agree to any relaxation of the rule in regard to meter deposits. ' The question of the coming grandstand poll was debated. at considerable length, and on the casting vote of the chairman it was decided not to support the loan proposal. , . Objection to the repairing of the borough roads with loose metal, with resultant inconvenience and danger to cyclists, was raised, and it was decided to. see whether some more satisfactory method could .be used. It was also decided to draw the * council's attention to the necessity for surfacing of the right-of-ways between Cambridge Terrace and Trafalgar Street, and to the danger arising through the willows at the corner of White's Line and Waiwetu . Road obscuring the view of traffic. The secretary was directed to advise the borough council that the association would be pleased to assist in the rdpvement to have local train fares reduced.
