A strike among fishermen fishing for the "trawler South Sea, at the Chatham Islands, is reported as a result of the men seeking an increase in the price of fish fro.v jd a pound to Id. It is alleged, according to reports by the steamer Tees, that four new fishermen who began,work for the trawler were prevented from fishing by the strikers, who threw their catch overboard, and that the men in the South Sea had to -seek protection from the constable at Waitangi.
