J. 'M. ■ BRACKENRIDCE'S WIN

In the final of the Wellington Bowling Centre's Champion of Champions singles yesterday afternoon J. M. Brackenridgc (Lyall.Bay) had an easy win from B. Ginger (Hutt), by 18 to 9 on the nineteenth head. Up to tho eighth head, when Brackenridge T\as leading 7 to-5, Ginger looked as if \he might hold his own, but •on tho twelfth head Brackenridge had piled on five more points while Gingei had not scored. The pace of the green was altering rapidiy so late ill the afternoon, and it seemed as though Ginger could not adapt himself to the changing conditions.: He improved On this later in the game, but' Braekenridgo left him no chances, and more than once, when Ginger was lying to score well, drew the shot. The score, in fact, docs not do full justice to Ginger's drawing. Brackenridge is now entitled to the gold medal for winning five centre events. These are as follows:—Champion singles, 1922; champion singles, 1931; champion pairs, 1D32; champion rinks, 1933; champion singles, 1934. v In the semi-finals Brackenridge was leading W. J. Goodwin by 18 to 9 on the fourteenth head, and on the sixteenth was 21 to 10. ; On' the'seventeenth head he carried the kitty into the ditch, and Goodwin being short, added three points. S. ; Luke (Victoria) and ,Ginger (Hutt) were.6 each yon the tenth head. Ginger then scored ■ for ' five heads, standing 13 to G. .Luke evened-up matters cpnsiderably by scoring 6 more points by the time they reached . the nineteenth head, . but Ginger, on the twentieth head, scored 4, making the score 17^12.
