WORK AT TAWA FLAT

The Tawa Flat Women's Institute met recently, when Mrs. Turner presided over about thirty member's. Considerable business was dealt with, including the calling, for nominations for the Southern Wellington area federation committee and for the institute committee. Pressure of engagements necessitated the. postponement of the institute picnic till March. . Miss 'Fleming spoke on tho subject of potato cookery, and members were greatly interested in her fine collection of recipes. Miss Eowell described tho institute cottage at Paraparaumu, which she visited recently. Photographs of it were passed round. " The demonstration, "Hints on Dresscutting," was ably conducted by Mrs. W. Hook, who showed tho correct method of placing the pattern, pinning, cutting and tack-marking to j ensure the best results. Members showed' much interest, in tho proceedings, and busily applied themselves to working under tho demonstrator's directions. .
