There are several local associations working within the main Wellington Centre. At last evening's meeting the report of the delegates to the recent conference' was read and discussed. Mr. Armit explained that the principal •n-ork o£ the federation was the stabilisation of prices throughout the Dominion. He stated that there was no possibility of any immediate increase in price, despite reports to the contrary. Any variation in prices -woxM be in the direction of making them uniform in all sections of the retail trade in Xe-w Zealand, but no announcement would be possible until the whole work had been completed. This would not be for some weeks yet.
