MANAWATU V. WELLINGTON
The annual bowling contest between the Manawatu and Wellington Centres was commenced, today, on the Wellington green. The visitors sent down sixteen r rinks, ana four each' of these played friendly games this morning on the Thorndqn, Hataitai, Island Bay and. Victoria greens. ■.".'.. The president of the Wellington Centre (Mr. W. Perry) in giving the visitors a hearty welcome, on the .Wellington green at. 2 p.m., congratulated Mr. Nash on bringing, down, so strong a team, not forgetting his choir.' Thanks to, traffic, arrangements they had visited four of the-Wellington Centre's greens that morning. A warm welcome awaited the-Wellington Centre team •on its yisit to Palmmton North.
