REDWOOD JUBILEE

SCHOOLS' DEMONSTRATION

Thousands of children from every Catholic school, convent, and college in Wellington city and suburbs, under the escort of their teachers, arrived at the Town Hall this afternoon to take part in tho demonstration of Catholic youth in honour of his Graco Archbishop Redwood, on the occasion of his episcopal diamond jubilee. Their loyalty to and affection for his Grace was .shown by. tho warmth of'their greeting to him as lie entered the hall.

His Grace Archbishop O'Shea, S.M., presided, and a complimentary address from the school children of. the Archdiocese of ■Wellington was read to the jubilarian by Noel Doohan, head prefect of St. Patrick's College, Wellington. To this tho Archbishop made a suitable reply.

A special children's choir of 500 voices rendered appropriate numbers under the baton c of Mr. Frank J. Oalces, and Mr. Maxwell Fernie presided at the organ.
