Except for somo .showers in Otago and Southland, and in a few isolated places in the east coast-districts of the North Island, the weather for thcvinost part has been fair to'fine. The depression from the Tasman Sea is now crossing the Dominion, but iMias been of only slight intensity, and the light to moderate northerly winds had by this morning given, plaeo to more .variable directions, with southorlies prevailing in various places. An anticyclone is now advancing over the Tasman Sea. At Auckland yesterday the weather was fine and mostly sunny but cloudy during the night. A light variable wind prevailed. ) .: ... _ It was flue, warm, and sunny in "Wellington, with a northerly breeze which freshened somewhat in the afternoon. The bright sunshine totalled nine and a half hours. Christchurch had a hot sunny day with a light easterly wind. ■■';•' In Dunedin, it'was dull but pleasant, with little wind.
