Au tna is the danger point in Europe todij, but war -nill be averted as long a Pianco and England show a determined face itgamst any move on the pait of Germany, according to Dr. E. P^Remond, of Pans, a student of international affairs, a\lio has been on a visit to Cluistchuich Dr. Rcmond, in an interview with the "Press," said that it was still remembeied in Fiance that Prussia had achieved the unity of tho Geiman Empire by thiee successive wars—that against Denmaik in 1864, that against Austria in 1866, and that again t France in 1870—and that if the Nazis attempted to Hy their hant^g on Austua thoio would be a groat danger of a general European and woild war. Anstua occupied a central position m Europe, a position which was of gieat strategic -value, said Dr Kemond, iiid there ms ccitainly a danger of Gormany making in effoit to extend her boundaries in that duoction But it was to bo hoped that any decisive move would be a\erted. Italy would not be anxious to have her boundaries shared hy Gormany, and France and England had recently announced tlveir intention of keeping Austria independent, a decision on winch Dr. Remond placed gieat hope At the present time it was fairlj certain that Hitle. realised the danger of an occupation of Austria,1 and Dr. Rcmond believed that he would piefer to he quiet m the meantime
"There is too much talk of war nowadays," added Or. Hemond "Germany is rapidly putting her house in Older, as also are most of the other Ttations, and for this reason I do not think thero will bo a war for some time yet "
