Port Nicholson Encampment.—Patriarch R. J. Mathers, C.P., presided over a large attendance. Patriarchs Mathers, P. J. Lee, P.C.P., and G. F. Ruclkin, P.C.P., wero appointed an audit committee. The following were elected to the social com•mittee:—Patriarchs A. Ryan, E. Miller, W. Smith, G. Hobbs, G. Piaggi, and S. McGregor. It was decided that the executive and social committees form a general committee to arrange for the annual ladies' night. Delegates to lodges were appointed as, follows:—Southern Cross, Pat. J. McGregor; Kupe, Pat. Mathers; Pride of Karori, Pat. W. Jarvis; Maraenui, Pat. Phillips; Onslow, Pat. Thomson; Zcalandia, Pat H. Hardham; Ngati-Toa, Pat. H. Rowney; Wildey, Pat. W. Smith; Cleveland, Pat. F. Riley; Otaki, Pat. Fielding. _ Bro. 13. Miller was reappointed card captain. The Patriarchal Degiee was conferred on four'brothers, two of them coming from Otaki. (southern Cross Lodge.—Bro. J. Kidd, N.G., presided over a good attendance. Visitors were present 'from Zealandia, Kupe, Maracnui, Cleveland, and Pride of Karoii Lodges. Sick visitois' reports were received and accounts and sick pay passed'for payment. Bro. A. Clarke (Linwood Lodge) was accepted as a transferring member, while Bro. priestly (Ridgeley Lodge) expressed his intention of transferring to Southern Cross Lodge. Congratulations were expressed to Bro. W. Tustin, who notified the lodge that he was iv his 56th year of membership, and to Bro. F. Reilly, who is in his 50th year of membership. Three candidates were nominated for membership. An initiation' team consisting 'of the district officers with Bro. G. F. Rudkir., D.D.G.M., as Acting Noble Grand, Bro. J. Elliott, as Vice Grand, Bio. R. Mathers as conductor, Bro. Webster as secretary, Bro. E. Miller as chaplain, and■ Bro. H. Miller as -warden, initiated four candidates. Bro. J. McGregor vas appointed the lodge's representative in the District Ritual :Competition...*A vote of welcome was replied to .by Bro. Rudkin and officers of visiting lodges. Rose 'of Wellington Rebekiah Lodge.— Sister Richards presided over a representative gathering. Official visits were re ceiyed from members of Rahiri and Victoria Rebekah Lodges. Sister Edmondson, a life member of the lodge, was present. Accounts, and sick pay were passed for payment, >The;first nomination of officers took place., Bro. Rudkin, D.D.G.M., outlined a few of the, remits concerning the Rebekah branch, and these were discussed. Bro. Rudkin presented to Sister Berriman and Sister Butler (Rahiri Rebekah Lodge) the tug-of-war shield and the relay baton won at the recent picnic. Sister Collins, on behalf of Sister Scorringe, N.G. of Esther Rebekah'Lodge, received .the championship.cup.* The election of L.D.D.G.M. also, took place, Sister Maley, P.L.D.D. G.M., i taking the chair. The candidates were Sister Sargclit (Rahiri) and Sister Coutt (Victoria), the first-named being elected: as'the result of a ballot. »Bros. G.F. Rudkin and P. Lee acted as scrutineers. MANCHESTER UNITY. Loyal Petone Lodge.—Bro. Nightingale, N.G., presided over a large attendance. ; Two new members were initiated and two were nominated. After lodge business was concluded members and visitors played cards. Loyal Antipodean Lodge.—Bro. Mulcahy, N.G., presided. One candidate for membership- was elected. The Lecture Master (Bro. Webb) delivered an address on the aims and objects of the society.1 Copies of the balance-sheet for the year ended November 30, 1933, were made available to members. This balance-sheet showed lodge finances to be in a very strong position. Membership now, stands at 518. Several members declared on the sick funds of the Lodge. The sick visitors reported and sick pay amounting to £41 7s 8d- was passed for payment., One claim for a maternity allowance was passed for payment. Bros. Craddock and 'Mulcahy were appointed delegates to visit Loyal Britannia Lodge on the occasion -of that lodge's annual smoke concert. Bro. Read, a trustee, complimented the Lecture Master (Bro. Webb) .on his services to the lodge and presented him, on behalf of the lodge, with a framed emblem certifying his progress. 1 Loyal Wellington Past Grands' Lodge.— Bio; G. Craddock, president, presided over a large atlendanco. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Bro. Q. Bell; vice-president, Bro. C. W. Johnson; L.M., Bro. G. Craddock; conductor, Bro. Rushton; warden, Bro. S. Eade; guardian, Bro. H. Harris;- secretary and treasurer, Bro. A.J. Foote; management committee, to consist of lodge officers and Bros. W. Holt, J. Stewart, and 'T. Lynneberg; auditor, Bros. C. Turner and A. Williams. The subscription for 1934 was reduced by half. The 1934 judges are to be selected by the committee from Bros.'Eades, Holti Rushton, Fabian, ,and Johnston. The committee was recommended.to prepare a syllabus for the year and to acquaint members of same..,..,At the .conclusion, of, the meeting votes of thanks were accorded the scrutineers, Bros. J. Wiley and Mikoz. Eulogistic references were made to the work for the order, and particularly for the P.G. Lodge, of the retiring secretary, Bro. R. K. Couper. DRUIDS' ORDER. '. Melrose Lodge.—A.D." Bro. Crawford presided over a large gathering. Bros. Raven and Cronk were nominated for the office of secretary, the ballot resulting in favour of Bro. Raven. Reports on DistJensary Board matters were received from Bros. Gauntlet, Abel, and Clouston. Recommendations from the, management coiumittee. /.were; received from Bro. Ansell, and after lengthy discussion were referred back to the ■ committee for .further consideration. Bro. Clouston was elected auditor. For his untiring work in connection with the Hospital Board during several years Bro. Ansell was the recipient of a Past President's Jewel at the hands of Bro. Wakelin. A vote of thanks passed to the visitors was replied to by Bro. Lepper (Excelsior Lodge), Bro. Abel (Pacific Lodge), Bro. Mollison (Coronation Lodge), and Bro. Wakelin (Pres. Hospital Board). After lodge closed, cards terminated an interesting evening. GRAND UNITED ODDFELLOWS. Wellington District Council.—Bro. McQueen, D.M., presided. It was resolved that the D.M., who is delegate to the biennial conference, and the district secretary attend the committee of management meeting and place before it some suggestions regarding the entertainment of delegates. Bro. Thompson, D.D.M., Sister Hooper, D.S., arid Bro. R. Couper, D.T., were visitors. Accounts amounting to £16 7s 6d were passed for payment. Miramar Branch.—Bro. Lemsky, N.G., presided over a small attendance. Sister Hooper, D.S., was present. Newtowhr Alpha Branch.—Bro. Charles was the presiding officer. Sick visitors' reports were received and sick pay passed accordingly. The social secretary reported that the programme had been prepared for a dance which is being held as a benefit to a distressed brother. Several visitors were present. Royal William , Branch—Bro. Wilcox presided. Six new members were initiated, five of this number having'-been proposed by Bro. Wilcox;.who also proposed at a previous meeting ten initiates, this being a record for one member for two consecutive meetings.'. A vote of congratulation was accorded Bro. Wilcox. Loyal Central Branch.—Bro. Morgan, N.G.j presided. Several members were reported to be sick and sick pay was passod on their behalf. A special remits committee was set up to report at a later meeting. The meeting concluded with harmony. Star of Newtown, Branch.—Sister Murphy, N.G., presided over a fair attendance. The social secretary's report was received, and also the report of the picnic delegate. The usual routine business was dealt with and the meeting concluded with harmony. Visitors present wore Sisters Lawlor, Harnor, and Boulton and Bro. Harnor. District Picnic Committee.—The meeting was held, to finalise arrangements for the annual picnic. A vote of thanks was accorded Bro. R. Conner for presenting a shield for the tug-of-war contest between the branches in the Wellington district. Sister Bradstook wns. also accorded a voto of thanks .for making; rosettes for the committee. Sisters Ryde and Hooper reported procuring the toys. RECHABITES. Kilbirnie Tent—Bro. Dixon, C.R., presided over a good attendance.. One new mpinber was admitted. One member was reported sick. Bro. F. Johnson "reported' on a meeting of the provincial council. The auditors were thanked for their services. The meeting concluded with dancing.
