WIN FOR PETERSEN

LONDON, February 26. At Cardiff,, in a, fifteen-round bout, Jack Peterson defeated Harry Crdssley, of Mexborough, the referee stopping the fight in the tenth round, after a very.plucky display in which Crossley was severely punished, being repeatedly down for counts of eight and nine in the later rounds.

WELLINGTON CAMERA CLUB

An 'optional subjects" competition was held recently before a good' attendance of members of the Wellington Camera Club. Thirty-five pictures were shown, and the following were the results:—Club championship, Mr. J. W. Johnson, 1; Mr. J. W. Johnson and Miss N. Johnson, equal. 2. A grade: Mr. J. W. Johnson, 1 and 2; Mr. J.W. Johnson, Miss,H. Johnson, Mr. J. ■■ W. Chapman-Taylor, equal, 3. B grade: Mr. J..E. Tunnington, 1 and 2. C grade: Mr. T. W. Rait (only award), 1. The pictures were criticised and much useful advice was given to members by Mr. J. A. Heginbotham. After a hearty vote of thanks had been accorded to the lecturer on the motion of Mr. J. W. Chap-man-Taylor, a discussion between members on the pictures followed. Four new members were elected to the club.
