FATAL INJURIES

AUCKLAND, February 25. The death of Arthur John Willetts, aged 67, foreman shipwright, occurred at Auckland. Hospital o& Saturday evening.

The deceased, who was well known on the Auckland: waterfront, narrowly escaped being drowned last Thursday when he slipped while working on the vessel Baroona at the Kauri Timber Company's Wharf at Freeman's Bay, and fell into the harbour between the vessel and the wharf. In-falling, he struck his head against the wharf and was rendered unconscious.

Willetts was pulled out of the water with the aid of a rope and, when taken to hospital, was in a serious condition, as ho was suffering from severe head injuries and concussion.
