(To the Editor.)

Sir,—During the paist . two or three seasons the residents of Faraparaiimu have suffered from a plague of flies. The nuisance is caused by bringing into the township every autumn- truck loads of stable manure. At the present time the^ little township is practically free from' flies, but as the time is very near at. hand for a renewal of supplies of stable manure we hope ami trust tljat the Health Department will take urgent steps cither to stop any further nvhnure being brought into the township or else see that it is properly sprayed by an - officer of the Department before arriving in the district. —I am, etc., RESIDENT.
