= Balbus. is an interestingly bred brown gelding by -the. Black Jester sire Lapidary, .whose progeny, usually recognised by the appearance; of 'lap. in their names, have .oape .well m _ the north durfnp the, last two,or three seasons. It is on the maternal -side, however,' that the feature of Balbus'a pedigree lies. His dam, Azecta (a half-sister to the iiseful Horomea), is by. the little-known' Stepniak sire Tajtoko, "a- brother to Neva' .
