INCREASE IN BRITAIN

According to Home Office "figures issued yesterday, in tho'wjholc of Great Britain tho total hum&er of road accidents, resulting in death or personal injury was 191,829, of winch 6924.were fatal accidents. ' Tho corresponding, figures for 1932 were 154.006 and 6457 respectively. There was 'thus an increase of 7823 or 4.3 percent, in the total number of accidents Qiis compared with an increase of 2,929 or 1.6 per cent, in 1932), and an increta-se of 437 or 6.7 per cent, in the.number of. fatal accidents (as compared vyiih a small decrease in 1932). The number of persons killed in 1933 was 7125 and of persons injured 216,401 against 6667 and 206,450 respectively in 1932.: : The figures for England and Wales show rather larger increases, there being, a decrease in the number of % recorded accidents and in the ('number of fatal accidents in...
