LONDON MARKET FIRM

The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received its weekly cable from London, dated February 23, advising that the butter market is firm with the retail prices unchanged. Wholesale quotations are:—New Zealand, salted and unsalted, 72s to 73s per cwt (which equals approximately 8.29 d per lb, f.0.b.); Australian, salted, 70s; Danish, spot, 100s. New Zealand 7290 -" 6748 Australian 7087 The Imperial Economic Committee's estimated stocks of all butters comprise 750,000 boxes, compared with 819,799 at the same time last year. . The cheese market is also firm, with the retail prices unchanged.
