The Wellington-Canterbury representative cricket match was continued today in pleasant weather. Canterbury's overnight score of 147 for three wickets was given a big. lift, the fourth wicket paituorship presenting a problem, and being productive of -many runs before being broken. By: lunch time- Canterbury had passed Wellington 's seoro of 305.

Hadlee (24) and Allen (16) resumed Canterbury's innings to the bowling of Pars Joe (with five men on the leg side) and Blundell. The scoring was kept down by Blundell, who was later replaced by Griffiths. A few spectators voiced disapproval of Parsloe's leg theory. The batsmen continued to score at a fair rate, and by noon the total had reached 230—Hadlee 52, Allen 70, extras 10. '■-... Newman took over from Parsloc, and Allen' hooked him to the boundary. Ho then lifted another high over rnid-off to the fence. Both batsmen ran past the thirty marki Hadlee drove Newman to the boundary, bringing 180 up. Allen reached the half-century in 62 minutes. Two balls later, he missedGriffiths, and must have been stumped had Tindill held the ball. It was the first chance Tindill missed. Hadlee reached 50 in 124 minutes.
