BOXING EXHIBITION
',*A , very instructive exhibition. of the finer points in boxing was given at the Miramar Boxing Club's gmynasium last night.by: the Australian • lightweight Jack Fitzgerald, the display 'being watched by a good; attendance, which included a number •of -women. AEter' an exhibition of skipping,. Fitzgerald sparred for half an hour; in. three-minutea rounds with the following local boys: Miller Wood, Sindall, Jones, and Marshall, each taking half'a' round at ; a' time. Though Fitzgerald's partners shaped up to him confidently arid kept him busy, his speed, almost, uncanny, sense of anticipation, and clever defence made him clearly the master of- each. ; Afterwards Fitzgerald- exhibited the, correct, way to carry out floor work. Fitzgerald is being trained for his bout on Monday night by Mr. Jim Donoghue, who; is -confident of having him at concert pitch' when he enters the ring.
