TRADE MISSION

AUSTRALIANS ARRIVE

For the purpose of discussing trade questions with the New Zealand Government, especially in regard to the entry of fruit into Australia and New Zealand, the Federal Minister of Commerce (the Hon. F. H. Stewart), accompanied by Mrs. and Miss Stewart, arrived in AVellington this morning from the north. Mr. Stewart and the members, of his party arrived in Auckland on Tuesday, and yesterday they visited tho Waitomo Cavos.

Accompanying Mr. Stewart in an official capacity are Mr. F. Murphy, Assistant Secretary to the Department of Commerce, Mr. P. Horan, Deputy Comp-troller-General of Customs, Mr. E. Mackinnon, Director of Plant Quarantine, Canberra, and his private secretary (Mr Harding).

Soon after his arrival, Mr. Stewart was waited upon by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, (the Hon. R. Masters), and he later called on the Prime Minister (tho Et. Hon. G. W. Forbes), meeting other Ministers as well. This afternoon he attended a luncheon being given to the Governor of Fiji (Sir A. Murchison Fletcher) by the Government. ' *

Mr. Stewart, will remain in Wellington, until tomorrow evening, when he will accompany the Prime Minister to Waitangi, where he will represent the Commonwealth Government at the celebrations. He will later Teturn to Wellington to continue his conversations with the members of the Sew Zealand Government.
