CARTERTO3T, This Day. In the Carterton" Police Court yesterday Frederick Flood, aged 25, pleaded guilty to obtaining goods to the value of £4 13s 6d from the W.F.C.A., Ltd., < Carterton, by false pretences, and was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. ' 'The accused went to the store and purchased goods and clothes reputedly on account- of a local resident, taking the clothes with him and giving instructions for the groceries to be delivered. It -was ascertained that the person to whom the, goods had been delivered had given no instructions for their purchase. It was stated that the accused had been before the Court on similar charges and that probation had not had a deterrent effect.
