Ross failed to make a point against Mrs. Corbett in the handicap singles, and Miss McDowell, a local player, defeated Mrs. Caldow, the New Zealand champion, 26-14, in another singles handicap. In the doubles.final Mrs. Scandrett (Christchurch) and Mrs. Patchett (Timaru) defeated Mrs. Heenan (Ashburton) and Mrs. Quinn (Invercargill), 2(5-24. Results are as follows:— , Women's Championship. First life, second round: Mrs. W. Taylor (Timaru) defeated Mrs. Hogan, 20-14; Mrs. Watkins (Hastings) defeated Mrs. Quinn (Invercargill), 26-19; Mrs. Caldow (Wellington) defeated Miss Perrin (Invercargill), 26-0; Mrs. Maddren (Christchurch) defeated Mrs. Seandrett (Christchufch), 26-14; Mrs. W. Taylor defeated Mrs. Watkins, 26-10; Mrs. Palmer (Christchurch) defeated Mrs. J. T. Wilson (Inverenrgill), 26-10. Second life, first round: Mr?. Caldow (Wellington) defeated Mis. Buchler (Dunedin), 26-21. Second round: Miss Morgan (Timaru) defeated; Mrs. J. S. Lee (Nelson), 26-18; Mrs. Maddren defeated Mrs. Quinn, 26-17. Third round: Mrs. Corbett defeated Mrs. Palmer, 26-21.
