MINERS PUT OFF
SLACK DEMAND FOR COAL
SYDNEY, December 12. Cessnock received it's third severe blow when the Bellbird colliery closed one tunnel, rendering 250 men idle. Slackness of trade is'vthe reason given for the dismissals. Eight hundred men from the Paxton and Aberdare Extended mines lost their jobs in the last few weeks when those mines ceased operations. , '
