COMPENSATION AWARDED

FIRST CASE DECIDED

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, This Day. The Arbitration Court today awarded Mrs. Olive Emma Tonkin, of Christchurch, and her child, £1000 compensation for the death of the former's husband, Horace John Tonkin, who was killed in the Hawke's Bay earthquake at Roach's Ltd., Hastings, in Fcbrnary, 1931. This is the first ease decided. Several other cases are believed to have been settled out of Court.
