STRAW HATS APPEAR

The beautifully fine weather with an absence of ■ wind, in Wellington today enabled the women to give light summer frocks another airing, and so far as mere man was concerned tho straw hat.made an appearance again. Set at jaunty angles, a number of boaters were noticed this morning, among the wearers being a ■well-known solicitor, his face, as he; stepped briskly down Featherston Street, being wreathed in smiles. It is difficult.to say what popularity the straw hat will en joy. this summer, in Wellington,-but this morning they certainly looked cooler, than the old friend, the. felt, and nobody appeared to take much notice' of them. ;.
