LONDON, November 9.

Mr. de Valera, speaking at a mass meeting in Dublin, said: "We have a duty towards the people to establish a Republic within five years. Before God we pledge ourselves to do so. We.ate in deadly earliest, and any section of the community daring toi cross our path must do so over out dead bodies.- We are quite willing to co-operate with Britain, but we must be free to dictate our own policy."
