BUT CLOUD INCREASING

Light to moderate winds from tho north-west or north are to bo expected generally, according to tho weathor forecast issued at noon today. Winds will freshen later and back to the south in far southern districts within about twenty-four hours' time. Fair, mild, and hazy weather is predicted, but cloud will be increasing' generally, and soino scattered rain is probable later. An anticyelono has continued to control the Dominion's weather, which has been fine and pleasant generajly. Winds have .been light to moderate and south-easterly to.north-easterly in direction. Auckland had fine and clear weather yesterday with.a light south-westerly wind. ■ ; ■ . In Wellington dull conditions in tho morning were followed by a finer after; noon. A light north-westerly wind changed at about 11 a.m. to an equally light■ southerly, but from 9.30. p.m. on through the night there was a dead calm. :

Yesterday morning in Christehurch was cool and cloudy with a north-east-erly breeze. _ Tho afternoon, however, was very fine and sunny, but conditions becamo dull again during the night when the north-easterly freshened.
