The announcement made' in ''The Post" on Wednesday last ■ -that; the contract for-the: construction:of'the new Wellington ■ Eailway Station had been let to the Fletcher Construction Co., Ltd., was confirmedlast evening by the chairman of the. Government Bailways Board (Mr. H. H. Sterling). Mr. Sterling said that the price tendored by the Fletcher Construction company was £339,173, and the architect's estimate was £338,000. The work would be commenced practically immediately, and was to be completed within three years and three months of the date of the commencement of the contract. .
